Sterling retreats vs dollar, tracks losses in euro

Sterling fell against the dollar on Friday, retreating from early gains and tracking a slide in the euro, which failed to break above key resistance levels against the U.S. currency.

The pound pulled away from a two-month high hit against the dollar on Thursday, but it managed to claw back from a 2 1/2-week low versus the euro hit in early London trade after the single currency came under broad selling pressure. Source
